Fourth of July

Our Independence Day celebration continued at the bay with more family and friends. It was a beautiful spot to have a picnic dinner, visit, play, enjoy the sunset, and watch fireworks.

Josiah and Katherine are just hanging around.

There was much munching.

We enjoyed watching boats of various sizes go by. I had never seen one like that before.

"Sorry. Got these bags" (Jack Handy makes me laugh.) It looks like Noah found the brownies.

Was it because of a lack of chairs? No. Noah just likes to sit on or tackle anyone who happens to be on the ground. He spent some time tackling Uncle Matt. Matt was telling him what a tough guy Noah is while they were playing then Katherine walked over and said, "No he's not. He's little." Matt told her that you need to tell little boys that they are tough so that they believe it. I think you're tough, Noah!

Did Grandpa mention naps or something?

At last the fireworks started! We were far enough away that the noise didn't scare anybody. Nathan was excited about them this year and throughout the show kept telling people, "Fireworks! It's fireworks!" Noah sat on John's lap during the fireworks and kept trying to blow them out. Funny boy. As soon as the show ended Nathan said, "I want to see them again." Sorry, kiddo, you'll have to wait until Labor Day or longer. It was a great day and I was so glad to climb into bed at the end of it.

Happy Birthday United States of America!
